What is your business:
I have two businesses that feed into each other. A service based business and then products to support. Firstly, I am the NZ Super Nanny, I coach parents online to help them solve problems at home. I am also an affiliate with doterra, an essential oil company. I use their products to support all areas of health including mood and emotions.
When did you get started?
This year marks 10 years since I started coaching, but I've been in the childcare industry since I left high school. I've been with doterra for 6 years.
Have you always wanted to run your own business?
YES, at first I thought I would own a preschool/daycare type business but after working as the Director of a preschool for 3 years I realised that wasn't actually that much fun.
What inspired you to take the leap?
Friends and family often told me that I should and that there was a real need to teach my parents what I knew. Deep down, I knew I could. Selling doterra products happened naturally, very soon after I started using them myself, I knew they were powerful.
Tell us about your biz highlights so far...
I published a book in 2019 called The Nature of Children, its about the 4 different personality types of children, what each type needs and how to respond to common challenging behaviors. Also this year launching my online membership means I can reach more families while creating a supportive community where parents learn from each other.
What do you wish more people knew?
That to be the best parent you just need to work on being the best version of yourself!
Whatβs one piece of advice that has made the biggest impact on your business journey?
Just create B- work and put it out there, or you'll never get anywhere. I found this to be very true.
